It was unbelievable just how many doctors, nurses and midwives turned up for my training session at Obio on this Saturday morning! I delivered my, by now, standard training session on Obstetric haemorrhage and newborn resuscitation, together with how to do a safe vacuum delivery. Not only were there were some very good clinical lessons learned, but also I saw develop an enthusiasm for clinical skills training on a regular basis and renewed vigour for optimal teamwork.
Two UNICEF representatives attended the session too. They are keen to invest in maternity skills training in the River State region, and we had a long discussion about the merits and ways to move forwards in this regard.
And I forgot to take any photographs! It’s sometimes hard to be a doctor, teacher, organiser and photographer all in one, and this time the photos were forgotten! If anyone has any ideas about how to become a superwoman please let me know!!
